Exploring Iceland

Located midway between North America and the continental mainland of Europe, Iceland is a land distinguished by extreme geological contrasts. Widely known as the land of “Fire and Ice’’, it is home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe as well as some of the most active volcanoes. The capital city of Reykjavík is the northernmost capital in the world, and it is among the cleanest, greenest and safest cities of the world, and is home to almost two-thirds of the Icelandic population.

Iceland is an incredible destination, one that absolutely needs to be visited at least once in a lifetime. There is an incredible mix of natural wonders, with active volcanoes, gushing waterfalls, sprouting geysers, natural hot springs, immense glaciers, endless green meadows and some of the most incredible views of the Northern Lights. This is a landscape like no other

Enjoy 5 evenings in a lovely cottage nestled in the breathtaking Icelandic countryside, perfect for exploring the beauty of South Iceland. The cottages have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a fully equipped kitchen, nice living room and a private terrace with a hot tub. The cottage is just a one hour drive from Reykjavík, located along the renowned Golden Circle route, which includes Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellir National park.

Head out on a hiking exploration of Sólheimajökull Glacier in southern Iceland, where an expert guide will take you to find blue ice, crevasses, and amazing ice formations. You will be supplied with a helmet, crampons, and an ice ax, and after a lesson on how to use them to walk safely on the ice, you will take the short walk up to the glacier. Spend 1.5 hours exploring the surreal surroundings with the ice-carved by streams and waterfalls to create intricate labyrinths and beautiful ridges. This glacier walk is for all levels, so all can enjoy the rugged, ever-changing terrain of the glacier while learning about its features. On another day, set out to sea by boat with an expert crew, for an emotional experience looking for whales and listening to their incredible vibrations as they breathe!
